The National Assembly on Friday did not take up its regular business to express condolence over the demise of PML-N lawmaker Syed Iftikhar ul Hassan. Deputy Speaker presided over the entire proceedings in the absence of Speaker. The Leaders of the House (Prime Minister) and the Opposition did not attend the sitting. The parliamentary leaders of PML-N, BAP and GDA attended the sitting. Five minority lawmakers were also present. The House suspended the regular agenda and adopted a resolution to condole the death of MNA Syed Iftikhar ul Hassan from NA-75 (Sialkot-IV). The lawmakers highlighted the political career of deceased MNA. The House was adjourned to meet again on August 10, 2020 (Monday) at 1100 hours.
