The National Assembly was informed on Monday that the government will present the reports of all plane crashes that took place in the last 10 years, including the Karachi plane crash, on Wednesday (tomorrow).
Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan made this announcement in the Lower House. He said the report of Karachi plane crash has been submitted to the prime minister. “Reports of other accidents are in the final stages of completion. I will present all these reports together in the House,” he added.
During the session, giving a policy statement, the minister said that he is ready to present the interim report of the Karachi plane crash but that he wanted to present the reports of all previous plane crashes together. “I am ready to present what I promised to report on June 22, but the reports of other incidents are almost complete. Therefore, one or two more days should be given so that I can present all the investigation reports in the House at once,” he maintained. “I will table the interim report on PIA’s flight PK-8303 along with reports of some previous incidents, including Airblue and Bhoja Air tragedies in Islamabad, Havelian aircraft crash and emergency landing of a plane at Gilgit airport, tentatively on Wednesday,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Aviation Division on Monday disowned news aired by certain television channels regarding provisional inquiry report of the PIA plane that crashed on 22nd of the last month before landing at Jinnah International Airport Karachi and claimed 97 lives. “Media friends are informed that couple of TV channels have been referring to a report regarding crash of PIA flight PK-8303. No such report has been issued by the Aviation Division,” the spokesperson said in a brief statement. The report being circulated through TV channels is not from any authentic source, he added.
