The government has allocated Rs 70 billion for a “special programme to mitigate Covid-19 impact” in the Public Sector Development Programme of FY2020-21. The programme will focus on education, sewerage, solid waste management, provision of clean drinking water and development of health facilities. a document detailing PSDP expenditures said. The programme will be executed in collaboration with the governments of provinces and federal territories. Amid negative effects of the coronavirus pandemic on economy, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government on Friday presented its second federal budget for the year 2020-21, with total outlay of Rs 7.137 trillion focusing on facilitation of businesses, relief to the vulnerable segments of society, fiscal consolidation, revenue mobilization and austerity measures.
