Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman Friday said the proposed anti-government march will take place as per schedule and will enter Islamabad on March 31.
Talking to reporters here, he said government is using different tactics to hinder the march which will create further strife between rulers and the opposition. He said any arrests will have no effect on Azadi March, adding that talks with the government under the present circumstances may not be successful.
Fazl said raids are being conducted at the residences of JUI-F Majlis-e-Shoora members in Punjab, KP and Balochistan. “The government is asking petrol pumps not to give petrol … shopkeepers are being directed not to sell ration to us, transporters have been asked not to provide transport,” he said. “An outfit of JUI-F has been banned which proves inhumane, undemocratic and dictatorial intentions of the government,” he added.
Fazl said Pakistan has been isolated at the international level due to failed foreign policy of the sitting government. He claimed that corruption by the present government during last one year has broken the record of all the previous governments. “Threats of suicide attacks are being issued after banning Ansarul Islam … we do not accept this ban,” he added.
The JUI-F chief ‘fake assembly’ and government will not be tolerated anymore and that they will have to go home. He warned that if anything happened to any of the Azadi March worker, Imran Khan-led government will be responsible. He said telephonic contact has been established with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who has also assured of full support to the march.
