Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, while inaugurating the newly constructed academic block of Sukkur IBA University on Sunday, said it was so refreshing to meet the energetic youth of Sindh and see all the amazing things they were doing.
He was accompanied by Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, MNA Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, MPA Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Sukkur Commissioner Rafiq Ahmed Burriro.
After the inauguration ceremony, the guests visited various laboratories of the university, including the FAB Lab, which was established by Sukkur IBA University with the collaboration of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. Upon his arrival, Bilawal was accorded a warm welcome by Sukkur IBA University Vice Chancellor Professor Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui, Registrar Engr Zahid Hussain Khand and others.
Bilawal expressed his jubilance over the infrastructure of the university and said it was so heartening to see that the institute – whose foundation stone was laid by his mother Benazir Bhutto – had grown into a gigantic university, which was not only competing with the best national and international universities.
Later, he took a round of various facilities at the university. Much impressed with the progress made by the institute, Bilawal said, “I remember visiting Sukkur 10 years ago, and will remember the city that I have seen today.” He said that institutes like the Sukkur IBA University were providing quality education to youngsters, mostly hailing from humble backgrounds.
“Not only this, the NICVD is providing free medical assistance to the cardiovascular patients, while the SIUT is taking care of renal ailments,” he said. “I feel proud that such great institutions are working in Sindh… The country needs many more institutions like Sukkur IBA University,” he remarked, ensuring full support to the youth in fulfilling the vision of father of the nation, Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
