Three more HIV positive case were detected at Taluka Headquarter Hospital (THQ) on Saturday, where 62 people were screened for the viral disease. However, no case was found at any of the outreach site of Naundero, Banguldero, Lashari, Pir Bux Bhutto and Garhi Yasin where a total of 73 people were tested. So far 906 HIV positive cases have emerged out of which 743 are children and 163 adults. Since April 25, 2019, when the screening of people among the general population was launched in Ratodero, as many as 31,148 people have been tested. The parents of affected children are running from pillar to post to get treatment medicines but there is nobody even to guide them what to do in their need of emergency. Citizens have also demanded to carry out screening of intravenous drug users, transvestites, sex workers and other potentials to ascertain exact number of HIV cases in Ratodero tehsil of Larkana district alone so that further spread of this dreaded disease could be stopped.
