PESHAWAR: As a consequence of torture extended to Dr. Ziauddin by the provincial health minister, Hisham Inamullah Khan, doctors across the KP province are boycotting the outpatient departments (OPD) at all government hospitals.
The KP Doctors Council demands that an FIR be lodged against the culprit who tortured the doctor working at the Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH).
As a counter-argument, the KP health minister claimed that Nausherwan Burki, the cousin of Prime Minister Imran Khan, was egged by Dr. Ziauddin. And later, the same calamity befell him when he reached the hospital though he was saved by his bodyguards.
The reason for this clash is accounted as resistance to reforms.
KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has ordered an inquiry into the matter.
