Senate Chairman, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, on Wednesday, extended his felicitations to the nation in his special message on Constitution Day. He termed the occasion as a day to pay tributes to all those who worked tirelessly and relentlessly to draft the constitution as well as those who are playing their part in its preservation and protection. He remarked that the Senate of Pakistan had come into existence through the Constitution of 1973 in order to provide equal representation to all federating units, irrespective of their population or size. The Senate of Pakistan was said to have always stayed true to the responsibility it was trusted with to hold together all provinces and become a balanced voice of each federating unit. He added that this Constitution had played a key role to strengthen the Federation of Pakistan and promote unity among the federating units by establishing the Upper House of Parliament; the Senate.
