ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in a letter to United Nations Security Council (UNSC) termed India a threat to regional security and peace.
The letter to UNSC was written after a statement from UN body named Jaish-e-Mohammad in the terror attack on Indian paramilitary forces in Pulwama, Jammu & Kashim.
The Foreign Minister in his letter stated that India was accusing Pakistan of Pulwama attack without any proofs in hand.
He further added “It is with a sense of urgency that I draw your attention to the deteriorating security situation in our region resulting from Indian belligerence and threats of use of force against Pakistan. The situation poses a threat to international peace and security.”

Qureshi asserted that India is blaming Pakistan for the Pulwama attack “to cover up its own operational and policy failures”.
Qureshi also accused the India of using “water as a weapon”. He also reminded UN of the long-standing legal arrangements agreed under the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT).
“Pakistan has offered its cooperation if tangible evidence emerging from credible investigation is shared,” he wrote.
Earlier this week, India threatened to stop water flow to Pakistan. Indian Minister for Water Resources Nitin Gadkari said that Indian government has decided to stop their share of water which used to flow to Pakistan. We will divert water from Eastern rivers and supply it to our people in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab.”
