Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday postponed his scheduled two-day visit to Sindh.
The PM was scheduled to pay a visit to the province from today to tomorrow (Saturday and Sunday) to hold meetings with Sindh’s key political figures. Federal ministers will now visit Karachi instead of the premier.
Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed is already in Karachi while Water Resources Minister Faisal Vawda and Maritime Affairs Minister Ali Zaidi have already arrived in the city. The three ministers will hold a meeting at the Governor’s House, Sindh to discuss the Karachi package and political matters.
Earlier, well-placed sources had claimed that the PM would be accompanied by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi during his visit to Sindh where they would hold meetings with Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and the Grand Democratic Alliance leaders. The meeting was expected to discuss matters pertaining to Sindh.
The premier was also expected to announce a special package for the drought-hit district of the province, Tharparkar during his visit to the area.
