Prime Minister Imran Imran Khan and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani spoke on the telephone on Thursday and discussed relations between the two countries.
The two leaders also discussed the visit of US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad as well as the Afghan reconciliation process and security issues at the border.
Prime Minister Khan reportedly told Ghani that peace in Afghanistan is in the interest of Pakistan. He further said that Pakistan believed in sincere efforts pertaining to a negotiated settlement of the Afghan conflict through an inclusive peace process. The prime minister also accepted Afghan president’s invitation to visit Afghanistan.
