Responding to Information Minister Fawad Chaudhary’s press conference on the fake bank accounts case, Secretary Information Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPP) MNA Dr. Nafisa Shah said on Monday that the integrity of the Parliament was being compromised by the conduct of the government.
In a statement here on Monday, she said the allegations raised against the PPP leadership by Chaudhary was a case of the kettle calling the pot black.
She said the ‘PM-select’ Imran Khan was having trouble gaining trust from within his own party due to his failure in fulfilling the promises he made to the nation. Instead of scheming and plotting against Sindh government the federal government should fix its own flaws, she added.
She said that Fawad Chaudhary’s tales of corruption have been exposed by a member of his own party in his book. The book talks of how the Information Minister is a corrupt man and used his uncle’s status as a judge to loot and plunder.
The Secretary Information PPPP said that it is ironic how Fawad Chaudhary talks of eradicating corruption while being corrupt himself. Separately, Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, the spokesman to the PPP chairman, has said that Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Fawad Chaudhary has openly violated the instructions of Supreme Court which clearly prohibit anyone from talking about Joint Investigation Team (JIT) and has committed contempt of court.
In a statement issued here on Monday, Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar questioned that on what basis the federal government is demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Sindh. He said that the Information Minister should ask his own PTI government to render resignations of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, Defence Minister Pervez Khattak and Punjab Senior Minister Aleem Khan before he asks CM Sindh to resign.
The spokesman said that the JIT report was only an excuse to target Sindh government. The puppet politicians are not able to accept the real mandate of the people, Senator Khokhar concluded.
