HYDERABAD: Sindh Community Foundation (SCF) under its Tabeer program on Sunday held a dialogue on problems faced by the youth belonging to the minorities in the province and allocation of appropriate resources and programs to further enhance their skill-set.
During the dialogue, Javed Hussain of Sindh Community Foundation shared that the democratic process should continue and every citizen who has the right to vote should exercise it. He said that youth’s role is very important and that the opinion of young people will decide the winner in the upcoming election.
Hussain continued that the youth should be made aware about the vote casting procedures and they should take active part in elections. Moreover, he added that development of the youth must be the primary agenda of the next government.
Aisha Agha of SCF said that candidates and parties should fulfill their promises once they are elected.
National Commission on Justice and Peace member Parwaiz Khokhar and social activists Imtiaz Boota and Tooba Bhatti said that the quota formula of minorities in employment was not being followed in government institutions which leads to youth from the minorities being unemployed.
Hameed Mallah of SCF briefed the young attendees about the voting procedure, while the youth raised various questions on accountability and demanded for fulfillment of the rights by strong political commitment.
