LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday has sent a notice to MNA Hamza Shehbaz, son of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a Punjab Saaf Pani Company scam.
MNA Shahbaz is asked to appear on 18th of May before Assistant Director Investigation Saqib Haider.
According to the notice issued by the NAB, Hamza is in possession of crucial information about the company in question.
The Punjab government established the company to serve the rural, peri-urban areas with safe drinking water.
The notice issued by NAB read, “The authority has taken the knowledge of offence(s) committed by the subject accused persons under the provisions of NAO, 1999.”
“The inquiry against officials of Punjab Saaf Pani Company has revealed that you are in possession of evidence whatsoever, which relates to the commission,” it said.
It was stated in the letter that he had attended many meetings of Clean Water Company and has knowledge of important information about the corruption which could lead the investigation team to reach the truth.
