LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi on Friday said that the Pakistan batsmen might face problems in England due to tough conditions in the region.
Speaking to the media, Najam Sethi said that the selection committee and the coaching team have designed a 10-year plan, according to which new and upcoming players will be promoted.
Sethi added that an overhaul of the domestic system is also being planned, which aims to provide better stipends to domestic cricketers, while the number of domestic teams would also be increased from 8 to 10.
Answering a question regarding non-selection of all-rounder Fawad Alam for the UK tour, the PCB chief said that he does not interfere in matters of the selection committee and that he has full trust in chief selector Inzamaul Haq.
Pakistan will commence the UK tour with a Test-match against Ireland on May 11, while the team is also scheduled to face England in two Test matches – on May 23 and June 1.
