ISLAMABAD: Globally renowned girls’ education activist and Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai along with her family on Monday departed for London via Doha on a private flight after her 4-day visit to Pakistan.
During her visit, she met Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbassi, government dignitaries and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). She also visited Swat to meet her family, relatives and friends.
Malala launched a campaign for the Malala Fund that funds girls’ education in Pakistan and other countries.
The youngest ever Nobel laureate, Malala, had returned to Pakistan for a 4-day visit on March 29, six years after her attempted killing by the Taliban.
Malala Yousafzai, born in Shangla District in 1997, was targeted by the Taliban in 2012 for asserting her right to education and advocating girl’s education in Swat. She survived the attack and is currently studying in England’s Oxford University.
