MUZAFFARABAD: Nawaz Sharif has said that the Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) is adhering to the Charter of Democracy (CoD). He made these remarks while addressing the Azad Kashmir Council on Thursday.
The prime minister said, “We are adhering to CoD. But if someone does not accept our policy then nothing can be done. There is no cure for those who build separate mosques.” He said that he wanted to take all parties on board as democracy was characterised by tolerance, adding that we needed to tolerate positive criticism.
Nawaz also spoke about CPEC as an ideal project for national development. He said that the projects initiated by his government were unparalleled and unprecedented in the history of the country and would serve each segment of the society. He said that his government wanted the realisation of incomplete dreams, citing how investments were being made in the energy sector and a network of motorways and roads was being laid all across the country. He added that there were vast opportunities for building energy projects in AJK. He underlined that AJK was also going to become part of the CPEC project. The prime minister assured the audience, “We want to capitalize on opportunities and are going ahead successfully. Pakistan will be a load shedding free country in 2018.”
Nawaz thanked the people of Azad Kashmir for putting their confidence in PML-N in the last elections. He said the party was committed to serving the masses without any discrimination.
