At least 250 more dengue fever cases were detected throughout Karachi city in 24 hours, taking the reported cases toll to 8,431 since 1st January 2019.
Spokesman Prevention and Control Program for Dengue (PCPD) Sindh, while talking to PPI, informed that as many as 264 new dengue fever cases surfaced across the Sindh province in a day, out of which 250 were detected in Karachi and 14 in other districts.
A total 26 people have died due to dengue viral fever in private and government sector hospitals of Karachi city this year so far.
In October, a total of 5,754 dengue positive cases were reported across the province out of which 5,387 were confirmed from Karachi and 367 from other districts.
56 new cases also detected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 24 hours
In 2019, a total of 8,971 dengue cases were reported in Sindh province so far out of which, 8,431 happened in Karachi and 540 in other districts.
Over in Peshawar, the health authorities confirmed that as many as 56 new cases of mosquito-borne dengue fever were detected during the last 24 hours across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to Dengue Response Unit, the number of dengue positive cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has soared to 6,464. The officials said that eight new dengue cases were reported in Peshawar city.
The DRU further said that 114 dengue patients were under treatment in various hospitals in the province. The authorities further said that 6,350 patients of mosquito-borne fever have been discharged from the hospitals after proper treatment.
