The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday released details of the assets of the members of Sindh Assembly.
According to the details, Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah owns two vehicles worth Rs 14.2 million, Rs 160 million bank balance, while his spouse owned over one kilo gold jewellery.
Leader of Opposition in Sindh Assembly, PTI’s Firdaus Shamim Naqvi owns Rs 168.4 million value assets, according to the details released by the election commission.
PPP leader and sister of former president Asif Ali Zardari, Faryal Talpur has assets over Rs 380 million. She didn’t mention any assets in the overseas. She also own around one kilogram of gold jewellery, election commission said.
Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani has declared Rs 64 million assets with the ECP, while provincial minister Saeed Ghani Rs 20 million worth assets, the election commission said.
Former chief minister Qaim Ali Shah has declared Rs 20 million assets, according to the ECP.
Former provincial minister Sharjeel Memon has declared assets having more than Rs 370 million value. He also declared three kilograms of gold, ECP said.
Sindh minister Syeda Shehla Raza has declared assets worth Rs 18 million. Muttahida Qaumi Movement MPA Kunwar Naveed Jameel has assets worth 52.3 million, while his party colleague and former leader of opposition in Sindh Khawaja Izhar had assets worth 11.7 million, according to the election commission.
Sarwat Fatima has declared assets worth Rs 1,20,000. Haleem Adil Shaikh, a PTI MPA from Sindh has declared assets worth 19.3 million, while his party colleague Khurram Sherzaman has declared over Rs 50 million assets with the election commission.
According to the ECP, this is a mandatory requirement under Section 137 of the Elections Act, 2017, under which the members of the Senate, National Assembly and provincial assemblies are required to submit yearly statements of assets and liabilities including spouse and dependent children with the election commission.
Meanwhile, the ECP also released details of assets of provincial legislators belonging to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan assemblies.
KP’s Mahmood Khan turned out to be richest chief minister of the country who is possessing more than Rs 2.37 billion worth assets over having ownership of various apartments, houses and plots that worth around Rs 2.33 billion. The ECP’s declaration further disclosed that CM Khan also owned 35 tola gold.
Moreover, the opposition leader Akram Durrani is was owner of more than Rs 10 million worth assets, Speaker KP Assembly Rs 200 million, Deputy Speaker Mehmood Jan Rs 114.4 million, Atif Khan Rs 19.1 million, Shahram Khan Tarakai Rs 5.2 million, Shaukat Yousafzai Rs 4.4 million, Taimur Saleem Khan Jhagra Rs 110 million, Pervez Khattak’s brother Liaquat Khattak Rs 326.7 million, Qalandar Lodhi Rs 14.4 million, Syed Ishtiaq Rs 23.7 million, Bahadur Khan Rs 880 million, Fakhar Jahan Rs 776.2 million and Nighat Orakzai more than Rs 10 million.
In Balochistan, CM Jam Kamal is possessing assets worth above Rs 220 million, whereas, his wife is having assets worth more than Rs 38.3 million.
Speaker Balochistan Assembly Abdul Quddus Bizenjo owned assets worth more than Rs 2 million and Nawab Aslam Raisani possessed Rs 210.5 million worth assets.
