Four people died and five others were injured on Sunday in a clash between Chandio and Solangi tribes in Dadu city. Members of both tribes had exchanged harsh words over stealing electricity from the main power line. The verbal dispute soon turned into a brawl where firearms were used. Those killed during the clash are: Babloo Solangi, Asgar Solangi, Azeem Chandio and Sono Chandio. Anwar Solangi, Ghulam Mustafa Solangi, Amir, Munir Chandio and Shahoo were injured. Following the clash, armed members of both groups took up positions on rooftops and in the streets. Firing continued in the area during the day. Dadu Town Police reached the site of the clash after several hours. Dadu SSP Dr Faraukh Raza, however, said that police had arrived at the scene as soon as it was informed about the clash. “A heavy contingent of police has been deployed in the area. The situation is now under control. An investigation has been started,” Raza said. The bodies and the injured were later taken to Dadu Civil Hospital. Hospital Surgeon Dr Hameed Meerani said that the injured were in serious condition. He said that the dead and the injured had received multiple bullet wounds.
