Ten new HIV cases have been detected at a screening camp established at Taluka Headquarters Hospital (THQ). The total number of HIV cases has now reached 761 so far. As many as 26,404 people belonging to general population have so far visited the screening camp for getting themselves tested for the disease.
Out of the total positive cases, 623 are children and 138 are adults. The ratio of children stands at 81 percent, who have been infected with the deadly viral disease due to the dysfunctional healthcare system.
Despite the efforts of the healthcare commission and the health department in the province, the situation regarding healthcare remains dismal in the area.
