The Capital Development Authority (CDA) in a massive operation has sealed more than 20 illegal commercial buildings on GT Road Islamabad. But, two reputed groups Safico (Silk Mall) & Darwesh illegally unsealed their commercial buildings thus violating ICT & Buildings laws of the Civic Agency, reported a copy of the details with this scribe.
According to details, the CDA building wing mentioned that an operation on sealing of under-construction buildings along old GT Road zone was carried out in coordination with Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration and ICT police. While in this regard, twenty buildings were sealed out of which five buildings’ owners have removed seals on the premises thereby violating the laws of CDA & ICT.
The copy of the details further added that Safico Group (Silk Mall) unsealed their one building while Darwesh group did so with their four commercial buildings. The building wing of CDA forwarded an application to the SHO of Sihala police station for lodging an FIR against the owners of both groups over breaking the seals of the buildings illegally which CDA called an act of trespassing the government affairs.
An official of the building wing told Daily Times that a letter has been forwarded to police station and the violators will be dealt strictly according to the law.
