ISLAMABAD: The Senate’s Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue has decided to hold a public hearing on the Companies Bill 2017 on March 16 at the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
Committee Chairman Senator Saleem Mandviwalla has said that the Senate body is trying to seek proposals, suggestions and recommendations from all on the Companies Bill 2017
“We have invited the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce (FPCCI), Overseas Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Pakistan Business Counsel, charted accountant firms, Stock Brokers Association, Real Estate Sector and all other stakeholders,” he said.
“It is the first-ever public hearing in the history of Senate and it is open to all. The committee will present its recommendations after the consultation. The objective of the public hearing is to build a consensus on the Companies Bill 2017,” he added. Mandviwalla said that the business community had shown its reservations on the Companies Bill 2017 that was why the Senate’s committee had decided to listen to their grievances so that these reservations could be removed.
