General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday restated his vow that the army will thwart all attempts being made to hurt the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
He was speaking at the passing out parade of Baloch recruits in Quetta. He also offered a reprieve to Balochi insurgents and dissidents by calling them to work for Pakistan’s progress.
The COAS said enemies of the country were unhappy with regards to the progress that Balochistan was making through CPEC. He added that it would be ensured that the hugely beneficial project was completed on time. He said that this project would change Pakistan’s destiny.
The army chief said that the fact that this visit was his third one to Balochistan since assuming charge showed that the Baloch were close to his heart and he felt proud to have served in the Baloch Regiment of Pakistan Army.
Bajwa also congratulated the new recruits on successfully completing their training.
He said that the law and order situation in the province was improving and Pakistan army was pleased to help the government in capacity building of civilian law enforcement agencies.
The COAS said that it was good to see the people of Balochistan coming forward and taking part in country’s development, adding that thousands of young Balochs were now serving in the armed forces.
