KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is to scheduled to meet the shareholders today (Tuesday).
As per news reports, the main agenda of the meeting will be privatisation and the meeting will be being chaired by board member Ghiasuddin Ahmed, after Chairman Azam Saigol resigned on Monday night.
The meeting comes less than a week after PK 661 crash that killed all 47 people on board.
Following the air crash PIA decided to ground its entire ATR fleet until declared fit to fly after a thorough examination.
Earlier this year in February, two people were killed as employees of the PIA protested and boycotted duties over proposed privatisation of the national carrier. Since then the plans to privatise the national carrier have taken a backseat.
