A meeting was held under the chair of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar for reviewing performance of the Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission. The chief minister directed to sort out pending cases of overseas Pakistanis on urgent basis. While addressing the meeting, he said that the chairmen of Overseas Pakistanis Committees had been posted in 29 districts whereas chairmen of the remaining seven districts will be posted soon. He said that participation of DCs and DPOs in the meetings of district committees would be ensured which will greatly help the solution of pending cases.
The chief minister directed the administration and police authorities to extend full cooperation to the district committees for the immediate solution of problems of overseas Pakistanis. He said that the draft of new act of OPC Punjab has been prepared which will soon be finalised.
Another high-level meeting held under the chair of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar reviewed in detail different measures taken for the prevention of crops from locust attack in Bahawalpur division. While directing to take all-possible preventive measures for countering the attack, the chief minister said that the departments concerned should remain fully alert and vigilant in Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan districts for saving the crops besides giving special focus to aerial spray for controlling the locust attack. He directed that the scope of aerial spray should be extended by hiring an aeroplane. He directed that the spray through vehicles should be further accelerated and surveillance should be conducted on daily basis.
The chief minister said that more pesticides should be imported according to the need and speedy measures should be taken after getting support from the federal government in this regard. He said that the departments concerned will have to remain fully alert and field officers should discharge their duties efficiently. He said the control room established at central and district levels should keep a vigilant eye round the clock over the situation.

The PDMA director general gave briefing about the measures taken for protecting the crops from locust attack. Chief secretary, principal secretary to CM, secretary agriculture, secretary to CM (Coordination), DG PDMA and others senior officials were present on the occasion. Commissioners of Bahawalpur, DG Khan and Multan divisions participated through video link.
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has solved the important issue of the farmers of district Rajanpur of southern Punjab. On the directions of the chief minister, Qadra canal has been opened, as a result of which, water will be available in the canals of Rajanpur for irrigating thousands of acres of agri lands. He said that provision of water to tail farmers should be ensured. He said that instructions have been issued to the authorities concerned to control the menace of water theft.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar congratulated Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani on the failure of no-confidence motion against him and said it is in fact a failure of the negative agenda of the opposition. He said that senators have reposed their confidence in Sadiq Sanjrani and have rejected the alliance of the opposition. He said that Sanjrani ran the business of the House in an effective manner and always displayed exemplary political tolerance and acumen. He said the PTI government will always firmly stand with Sanjrani.
The chief minister said the opposition should avoid the politics of anarchy and chaos after this defeat. He said the opposition parties have their personal agenda and that the unnatural alliance of the opposition will die soon. He said the opposition, which is united for their personal interests, will be disunited in a few days, adding that the people always rejected those who practiced negative politics. “The PTI government is correcting the faults of 70 years. We are serving the people sincerely and wholeheartedly and Pakistan is moving towards its destination under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan,” he concluded.
