Federal Minister for National Health Services Amir Mehmood Kiyani has said that government will provide full support and cooperation to the private sector to increase the export of pharmaceutical products. Talking to a delegation of chemist and druggist community, the minister said Africa with over one billion population can be a good market for Pakistani pharmaceutical products. He said the private sector should play lead role in enhancing exports from Pakistan. He assured the visiting delegation that the incumbent government will provide all facilities to the business community and will address the issues being faced by the chemist and druggist community. Patron-in-Chief of Pakistan Chemist and Druggist Association Zafar Bakhtawari said that India currently exports $20 billion pharmaceutical products every year whereas Pakistan’s exports stands at only $230 million. He called for concerted efforts to increase the pharmaceutical exports.
