PESHAWAR: The International Day of Disability was observed on Friday, in which special attention was stressed by speakers to make the persons with disability a useful citizen of the society.
A walk was arranged in connection with the day by PIPAZ Hospital, Pakistan Red Crescent Society and International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC). Advisor to Prime Minister Amir Muqam was the chief guest on the occasion.
Addressing the participants of the walk, he said the persons with disability are blessed with special qualities by Allah and it is responsibility of the society to make these persons useful citizen by taking benefit of their special qualities.
He said such persons should be brought into mainstream by giving them opportunities, adding that persons with disabilities should also have to come forward and work for development and prosperity of the country.
