LAHORE: A farewell function was organised to honour an outgoing top police official, Welfare and Finance Additional Inspector General of Police (AIG) Sohail Khan, at the Central Police Office on Wednesday.
Addressing the participants, Punjab Inspector General Police (IGP) Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera said that honest and diligent police officers and officials were pride of the Police Department.
“Sohail Khan has set an example for the department through assiduous and devoted services. He has been one of the most professional and courageous police officers,” said the IGP. All senior police officers were also present on the occasion.
Additional IGP Welfare and Finance Sohail Khan joined Police Department as assistant superintendent of police (ASP) in 1985. He was promoted to the ranks of SP in 1991, DIG in 2008 and AIG in 2013. He had served in Islamabad, KP, Jampur, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Sialkot, Special Branch Punjab and Punjab Highway Patrol on different ranks.
Later, IGP Sukhera presented a souvenir to Sohail Khan.
