District Head Quarter (DHQ) Hospital commonly known as Benazir Bhutto Shaheed (BBS) Hospital Abbottabad has become a serious threat where 28 members of the staff, including six doctors, six nurses, four lady health visitors and other allied staff have been reported COVID-19 positive, according to official documents.
The list of staff Corona positive in last 9 days w.e.f 14.5.2020 to 23.5.2020 dully signed by Dr. Jawad Majeed, Focal Person COVID-19 DHQ Hospital Abbottabad stated that 28 staff members including doctors & nurses have been reported corona positive. Six Medical & House officers include Dr. Hamza Ashraf, Dr. Shazia, Dr. Iqra, Dr. Tooba Jadoon, Dr. Maria Mumtaz and Dr. Laraib Nawaz who have been declared corona positive and were sent for quarantine. Similarly six nurses who were also declared positive reports include Irum Gul, Reena Hameed, Nishat John, Faiza Monika, Ruqaiya Ashraf, and Tayyaba Tariq. Saira, Kiran Bibi, Taiba Rafique, Riffat Bibi, Sidra , all Lady health Visitors (LHVs) and Shakeel, Shazia Bibi, Samina Bibi & Najma Bibi were amongst Dai who were declared corona positive. Other staff who also include in positive report include CT Radiology M. Tahir, Chokidar Ayaz, Tube well operator Nazir Zeb and Wards boys Shoaib Ayaz, Pervaiz, Faridoon Abbasi & Muhammad Faisal.It has been learnt that even Staff including doctors posted in Emergency & ICU in DHQ hospital were not having PPEs and were exposed to this virus. Health managers stressed to take strict precautionary measures and provide full PPEs for all health staff round the clock.
Meanwhile 13 new positive cases have been traced including two more doctors of Ayub Teaching hospitals,total numbers of COVID-19 cases have increased to 237 in Abbottabad district. According to Daily situation report of health department 83 cases have so far recovered out of total 237 positive cases while 142 are still active.
Report disclosed 12 deaths in the district due to COVID-19. The report further disclosed that 61 male and 22 females have been recovered so far while active cases include 78 male & 64 female. The DSR further pointed out new positive cases on Wednesday which include two doctors of Ayub Teaching hospital namely Dr. Hizbullah Hasib, Dr.Fahad Ali Khan & Dr. Farhan Bashir. Other cases which have been reported positive include Abdul Qadoos, Ayesha Khan,Alvina Raja, Gul Munir Raja, Lareb Khan, Noor Khan, Saif ur Rehman, Sharafat Khan and Yasmeen Younis, DSR added.
