Like other parts of the country, bazaars and markets remained closed aimed threat of spreading of coronavirus here on Monday. On the strict directives of provincial government, main bazaars, markets of Landi Kotal, Jamrud and Bara were closed only groceries, bakeries and shops of other edibles were exempted of the restriction. Local administrative officials in all three tehsils of Khyber roaming in the markets and persuaded the traders to shut their business centres in the best interest of people. Thin rush was witnessed in all the Bazaars and the buyers preferred to leave soon after completing their shopping of necessary edible commodities. Additional Assistant Commissioner, Landi Kotal Shamsul Islam said that as per directive of the provincial government the partial lockdown will continue till evening of 24th of March,2020 while shutting of hotels, restaurants and saloons will be suspended for 15 days. He urged the residents to firmly adopted all precautionary, recommended by the health experts to halt the coronavirus. Earlier, the administration of Landi Kotal displayed banners at various squares, in addition with announcement were made on mega phone, asking the locals to stay at their homes and avoid wondering in crowded sites to stay safe of the deadly COVID 19.
