Police said they managed to get released a kidnapped citizen of Karachi, who was abducted on October 27 from Chakra Goth, and an SHO sustained bullet wounds during an encounter that took place between kidnappers and police at Katcha area of Ghari Tegho, riverine area of Khanpur, some 80 Kilometres off from here, on the night between Thursday and Friday.
Nasim Bukhari, an official of SSP Office Shikarpur, told this scribe that following on the spy information with respect to change the location of kidnapped man area police cordoned off the area and succeeded in releasing a resident of Chakkra Goth Karachi named Ghulam Mustafa Korejo, of 32, while unfortunately Talib Hussain Memon, the In-charge Police Picket Ghari Tegho sustained bullet injuries, however all kidnappers managed to run from place of firing taking the benefit of deep forest, Bukhari said.
Area police transported the injured police officer to nearby hospital and moved the released man to concerned police station while injured police officer referred to Sukkur private hospital for further medical assistances because his precarious condition and area police informed the heirs of released man to receive him from SSP Office Shikarpur after completing necessary formalities.
Released Ghulam Mustafa Korejo told the reports that he was kidnapped from Karachi and shifted him to Katcha area of Shikarpur after giving him injection of drugs by an ambulance for ransom money and thanked Shikarpur Police for timely action.
The condition of the injured police officer said to be out of danger. Area police started its investigation and handed over the released man to his heirs and made arrests of a few suspects.
