The 14th Council Meeting of HEC-established National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council was held in Higher Education Commission Islamabad and chaired by Prof Dr Ishtiaq Ahmed (Pro-Vice Chancellor MNS Agriculture University Multan). The chairperson warmly welcomed all the members especially newly nominated members and acknowledged the services of ex-chairperson Dr ME Tasneem and council secretary (Late) Naseer Alam Khan. The chairperson gave an overview of last year achievements of the council and expressed his concerns over the mushroom growth of agricultural institutes and unprecedented increase in student enrolments in various public and private institutes which is antagonising quality. It was also discussed that certain public sector institutes have started agriculture degree programs beyond mandate and without necessary infra-structure which should be taken up by QAA. As per decision of 34th commission meeting of HEC hallmark decision to register agriculture students was approved and appreciated by members. Initiation of E-newsletter by NAEAC and approval of annual calendar as well as budget 2019-20were granted. In the end chairperson NAEAC Prof Dr Ishtiaq A Rajwana appreciated all members for their valuable intellectual input especially Prof Dr Aslam Khan (Dear University of Agriculture Faisalabad) and Mr. Khawaja Mohsin (Director Mahmood Group) who for the very first time in the history of council attended the meeting through video link.
