Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Thursday termed the new industrial policy as a game-changer for promotion of industries in the province.
Chairing a meeting of Industries Department in Lahore, Buzdar said that a decision had been made to establish special markets for the promotion of local industries in various cities of Punjab.
He said that German and Swedish technical education models would be followed for conducting courses and 1.5 million skilled people would get job during the next few years.
The chief minister said that after establishment of Industrial Estates in Gujranwala and Wazirabad, local workers would get ample job opportunities. Buzdar said that the Punjab Business Registration Portal had been established for convenience of businessmen in Punjab.
Separately, Buzdar presided over a meeting regarding the Agriculture Department at his office. Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said that farmers will be educated about the latest innovations in the agriculture sector. He termed agri. credit cards scheme as an innovative step of the PTI government and added that farmers will be directly paid the price of wheat, sugarcane and other crops. They will also be provided agri. services on subsidized rates, he added. He said that high-value crop culture will be introduced in villages and maintained that farmers will be rich and prosperous due to the cultivation of profitable crops.
He said that cultivation of olive trees will be encouraged in hilly areas of DG Khan. Meanwhile, youth will get employment through youth internship and the farmers will get good crops, he added. The farmers can get good earnings through floriculture and foreign exchange can also be earned by increasing the production of honey. He said that medicinal crops will not only promote local pharmaceutical industry but the foreign exchange will be earned as well. The farmers are given necessary protection through the launch of insurance policy and the steps taken by the PTI government are proving meaningful, he added. Principal Secretary to CM, secretaries of information and agriculture departments along-with concerned officials attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, Buzdar said that the decision of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in the Kulbhushan case was the victory of truth and justice as truth had prevailed while lies and deceit were defeated.
In a statement, the chief minister congratulated the nation on the victory of truth and said that Pakistan has emerged victorious by the grace of Almighty Allah. Pakistan is a peace-loving country. The deceitful Indian narrative has been defeated and India has eaten humble pie. The decision in the Kulbhushan case has caused shame and humiliation for India and whether India will continue to follow the policy of stubbornness, the Chief Minister inquired.
