An Accountability Court, on Friday, granted the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) an extension in the physical remand of Sindh Assembly’s Speaker, Agha Siraj Durrani, in a corruption case till March 11. The hearing regarding assets beyond sources case was conducted where the NAB officials requested the court for an extension in People’s Party leader’s remand. Upon being asked to justify his request, the NAB prosecutor replied that the accused was being produced in the assembly daily while investigators required more time to look into his accounts. He also claimed that Durrani had bought a property at Badar Commercial for Rs 3.3 million. When the former owner was asked about the deal, he said the worth of the property is Rs 80 million, while Rs 20 million have been spent on construction, he continued, pointing to another property in Defence Phase-V. In addition to a number of bungalows in his name, NAB official also said that his daughter, Shahnaz Durrani, had also booked three apartments in her name.
