The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), on Sunday, accepted Pakistan’s request to call an emergency meeting of its Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir at the OIC General Secretariat at 11 am on February 26.
According to information gathered from media reports, the meeting would review the actions taken by Indian authorities in the wake of the recent attack on security forces in Pulwama in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) Previously, the OIC has criticised India over its violations of human rights in the occupied territory.
Meanwhile, a complete shutdown is being observed in Mandi town in Pir Pangal, Mandi town in Poonch, and the district of Kulgam in Indian-occupied Kashmir to protests against the possible repealing of Article 35-A of the Indian Constitution. The shutdown is being staged to condemn the acts of terrorism and brutality at the hands of the occupying forces.
Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry recently responded to the threats of Indian aggression, saying, “the whole nation stands behind armed forces of the country.” He further added that all political parties were standing on the same page on Pakistan’s solidarity. Pakistan was said to have wanted a normalisation of its relations with India while Prime Minister Imran Khan had categorically given his stance on the relationship with New Delhi.
