Two unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on a Chingchi rickshaw at Naundero Sugar Mills bypass on Wednesday in which two persons were killed and a third was injured.
The dead were identified as 42-year-old Waheed Gul and 60-year-old Raees Khan, both residents of Battai Village, Tehsil Khaar of Bajaur district. The third person, identified as Arif Gul was also critically injured and was rushed to Chandka Medical College Hospital in Larkana by the police where he also succumbed to his injuries. All three bodies were shifted to the Rural Health Centre (RHC) for fulfillment of legal formalities. The deceased were selling plastic dinner sets to earn a livelihood for their families.
The Chingchi driver Mukhtiar Ali told media that he was coming from Larkana to Naundero as usual along with these passengers when suddenly two men riding a bike intercepted them near the sugar mill bypass and the man who was sitting behind the bike opened the fire due to which all three persons started bleeding profusely.
Police, relatives and friends of the deceased reached RHC in large numbers.
Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Zulfiqar Mahar who was on leave, reached the spot immediately and began an inquiry of the incident.
A First Information Report was registered under section 302 & 34 Pakistan Penal Code at Naundero Police Station against the two assailants by Waheed Gul’s son in which he has stated that two unidentified armed men attacked a Chingchi and killed three persons in a firing including his father.
SSP Zulfiqar Mahar told media that a forensic team has collected evidence including spent bullets. He said police is probing the matter from all corners and hoped the accused will be arrested soon.
