After failing to suppress the ongoing freedom movement in the occupied valley with bullets, pellets and teargas, the Indian police is now set to use plastic bullets to disperse protesters in the territory.
As per India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), which has developed the plastic bullet, the bullet can be fired from the AK-47 rifle and has already been supplied to police in the occupied valley.
Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory, one of the major laboratories of the DRDO in Chandigarh, Director Manjit Singh said the plastic bullet is an effective way to control crowds, adding that 0.1 million bullets have been supplied to the police in Held Kashmir. Dozens of people have been killed while thousands injured due to the use of pellets in the valley since the extrajudicial killing of popular youth leader Burhan Wani on July 8, 2016. Hundreds of those wounded have been rendered blind, Kashmir Media Service reported.
Meanwhile, the Indian government on Saturday barred traders belonging to Held Kashmir from wearing green-coloured attires, adding that green symbolises support for the Pakistani flag. The government stated that legal action will ensue those who sell green-coloured clothes.
Pakistan reiterates demand for UN OHCHR office in IOK

He pledged that Pakistan would continue to extend political, diplomatic and moral support to Kashmiris in their legitimate struggle to self determination. “We also reiterate our call for urgent establishment of the OHCHR to look into the Indian atrocities in IOK.” FO demanded.
