ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is an independent body and carries out its on activities, adding that government has no role in its functionaries.
He was talking to the media representatives in reaction to the decision of IHC over the suspension of imprisonment of former primer Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and Son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar in Avenfield reference.
The information minister said that government and nation want action against the elements involved in corruption. Nation wants its looted money brought back to country, he added.

Fawad said that government has complete trust on free judiciary and courts in free Pakistan.
He further said that Sarif family failed to provide the evidence that how they made millions of rupees and said that nation has no doubt about the role of Sharifs in this regard.
Earlier, The Islamabad High Court (IHC) suspended on Wednesday the imprisonment terms of the prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz, son in law Captain (r) Safdar.
Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Captain (r) Safdar had filed a plea challenging the Avenfield verdict against them and the appeal has been accepted today.
A two-member bench, comprising of Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, heard the plea today.
A bench comprised of Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb gave the judgment on pleas filed by Nawaz, Maryam and Capt (r) Safdar against the Avenfield conviction.
The two-member bench ordered the former premier, his daughter and son-in-law to submit the bail bonds of worth Rs 0.5 million each.
