KARACHI: Two workers of Mutahidda Qaumi Movement London’s (MQM-L) South Africa network were arrested during a joint raid, conducted by Pakistan Rangers Sindh and police in Orangi Town, on Wednesday.
A ranger’s spokesperson stated, “The two suspects were identified as Muhammad Bilal Lodhi and Muhammad Irshad had planned to target opposing party’s leaders.”
“MQM-London’s South Africa network had formed teams of target killers to sabotage the upcoming polls by killing political leaders,” the spokesperson added.
The spokesperson went on to say, while investigation, the suspects admitted of being involved in a conspiracy to derail the election process which involved the targeting of candidates from other parties.
“Moreover, the weapons provided to the suspects was financed by MQM’s London,” the spokesperson asserted.
