GUJRANWALA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday said that party candidates were being pressured via the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), while the Interim Punjab government was also busy registering cases against Nawaz league workers.
“I had urged PML-N supporters to peacefully welcome Nawaz Sharif upon his arrival on July 13 and I am proud of party faithfuls for obeying my commands. Despite exemplary behaviour, PML-N workers were charged with terrorism,” Shehbaz said while speaking to a rally in Gujranwala.
“If supporting Nawaz is equivalent to terrorism, then all PML-N supporters are terrorists and we will commit the crime of backing Nawaz a hundred more times,” Shehbaz continued.
The ex-Punjab CM termed July 13 – the day when Nawaz and daughter Maryam Nawaz were taken into custody upon arrival – as a black day.
“It was the first time in history that a daughter was arrested in front of her father and vice versa. Can you imagine the pain the two must have gone through?” he questioned the crowd.
Taking jabs at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan, Shehbaz said that Khan has issued tickets to corrupt politicians and that the people of Pakistan will reject the party on July, and will, once again, showcase their love for PML-N.
