ISLAMABAD: Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar is not in sight since Saturday. National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has set its teams ready for his arrest as per indictment by accountability court in Avenfield Reference case. The teams left for Khyber Pakhtubkhwa(KPK) a day after the announcement of the verdict.
Three teams have been stationed in different cities, that is to say, Abbottabad, Mansehra and Haripur in order to arrest Safdar, the son-in-law of Nawaz Sharif.
He was sentenced one-year behind the bars on Friday, in relation to Avenfield Reference case, along with Maryam and Nawaz, who were sentenced eleven and eight years, respectively.
According to Ministry of information, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), they have not been in contact with anyone regarding the arrest of the absconder.Though, NAB is an independent body and we are ready to help if required, he further added.
Safdar’s name has been put on exit control list by the court which means that he is barred from traveling abroad.
