KARACHI: Protesters on Tuesday clashed with the police in Karachi after a 6-year-old minor was allegedly raped and murdered.
The body of 6-year-old Rabia, who was said to have been kidnapped before being raped and murdered, was found from a garbage dump in Aurangi Town area.
According to the victim’s father, the 6-year-old left home on Sunday to play with her friends outside, but did not return.
Residents of the area took to the streets and protested against the alleged rape and murdered and demanded to hold those responsible for the act accountable.
The police resorted to tear gas firing to disperse the demonstrators, while straight bullets were also fired which left 1 person dead and dozens injured.
According to SSP West, two out of the three accused have been arrested while the body of the victim has also been sent for an autopsy examination.
