ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Ramesh Kumar jumped ships to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), it was announced in a press conference on Saturday.
While conducting a joint press conference with PTI Chairman Imran Khan, Ramesh formally announced to join the party while he also took jabs at former party for ‘adopting a stance contradictory to his in Panama papers case’.
The ex-PML-N member said that he had also opposed various other party decisions, including the privatisation of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
Kumar claimed that since the PML-N did not listen to his point of views, he had to pen his opinion via different newspaper columns.
He also invited PML-N’s disgruntled leader Chaudhry Nisar to join PTI too.
Speaking on occassion, PTI chief Imran said that the country’s founder, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, had created Pakistan to protect the rights of the minorities and that the PTI vow to continue walking on his path.
Kumar was elected to the National Assembly of PML-N candidate on a seat reserved for minorities in general elections 2013.
Last month, MNA from Faisalabad Dr Nisar Ahmed Jutt and Tariq Mehmood, MNA from NA-98 constituency of Gujranwala also announced their move to the PTI.
