ISLAMABAD: President House officials on Sunday assured 11-year-old Mohammad Sabeel Haider that they will not broadcast his speech.
President House took notice of the issue after it was reported by the media and solved the matter at the earliest. Sabeel thanked the media for raising the issue.
“President House officials accepted their mistake and have guaranteed that it will not happen to anyone in the future, nor the speech will be broadcasted. I thank the media for their support and for raising the issue,” the 11-year-old said.
Sabeel, who is a sixth-grade student at Islamabad Model College for Boys, sued the President House officials for alleged plagiarising his speech without his consent.
According to news aired on a private TV channel, Sabeel on Friday said that he was chosen to deliver a speech at the President House in Islamabad on December 22.
However, on his arrival at the President’s House, Sabeel was informed that he will no longer be delivering the speech. In his petition, he said that a tenth-grader delivered the speech he had written and prepared, alleging that his intellectual property was stolen.
