Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday said that the reduction in federal budget for education affected the students of Gilgit-Baltistan the most, putting the future of students of both universities in GB in danger.
He expressed these views while talking to a PPP delegation from GB which called on him and briefed him on the political situation in GB. The delegation consisted of former GB CM Mehdi Shah, Amjad Ali Advocate, Jamil Ahmed, Sadia Danish, Shaukat Ali and Shah Sultan.
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the arrested in Hunza tragedy, Baba Jan and others, should be provided justice. He said that campaign for the right of property is according to the vision of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Why the Supreme Court’s decision regarding status of GB is not implemented, Chairman PPP asked. Due to this non-implementation of SC decision the GB Council and Courts are non-functional, which was matter of serious concern. The delegation also briefed about elections in GB. A great number of people of GB will participate in the event in connection with martyrdom of Benazir Bhutto in Rawalpindi, the delegation said. The PPP GB delegation also expressed concern over the health condition of President Zardari and demanded that his personal doctors should be given access to President Zardari.
