Former minister for railways Khawaja Saad Rafique exchanged hot words with police officers when he was brought to the accountability court in connection with the Paragon Housing Scandal on Saturday. Reportedly, Khawaja Saad Rafique also scolded Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) for barring Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers from meeting him. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had launched an investigation into the Paragon Housing scam in November 2017 after receiving a number of complaints. In December 2018, Rafique and his brother were arrested after the Lahore High Court (LHC) rejected their request for an extension in pre-arrest bail in the case.
