Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Saturday strongly condemned the cowardly attack on the Pakistani soldiers from across the Afghan border near Gurbaz, North Waziristan.
Talking to a private news channel, she said India was involved in the terrorist attack in which six Pakistani soldiers embraced martyrdom.
India was hatching conspiracies to vitiate peace process in Pakistan through such nefarious acts, however, it would not succeed in its designs, she added. Dr Firdous said the United States’ (US) announcement for logistics and technical support of Pakistan’s F- 16 fighter jets was a victory of Pakistan’s stance and a defeat of the Indian propaganda after the Pulwama incident.
Meanwhile, Punjab Assembly Speaker Ch Pervaiz Elahi described as great addition of martyrdom of Captain Aqib Javed and army jawans in two attacks of enemies of Pakistan in Balochistan and North Waziristan to the great sacrifices of the Pakistan Army and said that those trying to harm Pakistan would always fail and remain without achieving evil objectives. He said in a statement that the entire nation today salutes those who laid down their lives and their great parents from the depth of their hearts.
Jamaat e Islami chief Senator Sirajul Haq also strongly condemned the terrorist attacks on the army and said that some elements wanted to destabilise the country but they would never succeed in their nefarious designs. He said that the martyrs were the heroes of the nation and the nation was proud of them. He said that the sacrifices would bear fruit and Pakistan would become an abode of peace.
Separately, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari condemned the incidents and expressed their profound grief and sorrow over the loss of lives of brave soldiers in terror attacks in KP and Balochistan.
Zardari said that if National Action Plan was fully implemented then nurseries of terror could have been eliminated. “Nation salutes brave martyred soldiers and will never forget their sacrifices. PPP and Bhutto family are with the victim families in this hour of grief,” he said.
