Supreme Court, on Monday, directed the trial court to quickly complete the proceedings of the case regarding the transmission of photoshopped images of a woman on the internet for blackmailing.
A three-member bench, headed by Justice Qazi Faez Isa, heard the bail after arrest case filed by an Afghan citizen, Sartaj Panah. The panel consisted of Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice Yahya Afridi. During the course of proceedings, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) official also informed the court that the Afghan citizen had spread the pictures of a woman with the help of her cousin, Aamir Nazir.
The accused was said to have sent the photoshopped picture of a woman and her younger sister to their family.
The defence counsel pleaded the court to grant bail.
While the said co-accused Aamir Nazir was granted bail, Justice Sardar Tariq Masood observed that how could the court grant bail to the accused when its resident address was not present.
The court later directed the trial court for early completion of the case and disposed of the bail petition.
