The Rawalpindi Police under its efforts to control crime and action against anti-social elements on Friday claimed to have arrested 854 outlaws and recovered drugs and illegal weapons during the first five months of this year.
According to the Police Spokesperson, police have arrested 380 accused of possessing an illegal weapon and 378 separate cases have been registered in the respective police stations against them during this year.
The recovered weapons include 350 pistol 30 bore, 3 Kalashnikovs, 19 Riffles and 16 revolvers.
Moreover, the police have also registered 471 cases against drug paddlers in different police stations of the city and detained 380 drug dealers.
While in a campaign against the proclaimed offenders, 653 suspects involved in different crimes.
In a separate incident, the Sadiqabad Police station on Friday has arrested a 10 member gang of criminals involved in heinous crimes including terrorism, killings, armed robberies, bike lifting and other such crimes.
According to Police spokesman Sohail Zafar, the gang was wanted to Islamabad and Rawalpindi Police in different crimes. The gang belongs to neighboring country Afghanistan.
